This Prep German class is made up of Ms. Breedloves children that are new in German or have had some exposure to the language. We are off to a good start this year and are getting to know the most important things about each other! Wie heißt du? Wie alt bist du? We have reinforced our learning by viewing three episodes of a video series entitled Anna, Schmidt und Oskar, an introduction to German in a real life setting.
We have been learning many new words from songs and games. Two song are about the parts of our body "Wozu sind unsere Augen da?" and "Meine Hände sind verschwunden". You might have heard these songs from your child already.
We are using the computer program "Richtig so!" to learn and reinforce vocabulary in a fun and exciting way. We have learned the words for fruits, other food and body parts. We went outside and traced our bodies with chalk. (see pictures below)
Numbers, colors and greetings have been introduced with songs, dances, games and stories. In one book entitled "Das kleine Blau" by Leo Lionni we learned the colors. Some of the songs and poems are in our German booklet.
